KIEL SAND & GRAVEL
Kiel Sand & Gravel, Inc. has been part of the Kiel community since 1959. The company began with one truck and one product: mason sand. Earl Teunissen and Ronald Kaat manufactured and delivered mason sand to job sites throughout Sheboygan and the surrounding areas using a 1957 tandem-axle GMC truck.
The following year, Mr. Kaat left for military service. Mr. Teunissen continued the business, expanding the washing plant and adding trucks. Those early investments laid the foundation for long-term growth.
Although we no longer manufacture aggregates, we continue to provide over 40 varieties of decorative landscape stone, granite cobbles, boulders, aggregates, topsoil, and other materials from our main yard at 21434 State Road 57 in Kiel. We also continue to offer delivery services for our materials.
For more than six decades, Kiel Sand & Gravel, Inc. and E & S Trucking, Inc. have remained trusted parts of the community. That ongoing success is built on strong customer relationships, dependable service, and dedicated employees.

Growth and Expansion
By 1966, the company had taken an important step forward with the purchase of its first portable crushing plant. This expansion allowed Kiel Sand & Gravel to move beyond mason sand and offer a wider range of products.Two Companies, One Commitment
In 1967, E & S Trucking, Inc. split into two separate corporations, each with a distinct focus:- E & S Trucking, Inc. — Dedicated to professional trucking services.
- Kiel Sand & Gravel, Inc. — Focused on manufacturing sand, gravel, and other construction aggregates.
- Kiel Sand & Gravel, Inc. expanded beyond mason sand to manufacture a diverse range of construction aggregates and added decorative landscape stone, boulders, and topsoil.
- E & S Trucking, Inc. expanded its fleet to support the growing range of materials and services.
Changes in 2024
In 2024, the manufacturing portion of the company—including both active manufacturing pits, Reese Pit and Blatz Pit in Kiel—was sold to Northeast Asphalt.Where We Are Today
